The Queen’s station in Southern California has passed, and as this chapter draws to a close, it’s easy to overlook the good times because the hard times seem so frequent. Our wonderful queen has survived 3 months in a desert. She has put up with ridiculous work schedules, impossible people, and great stress. But her time in Bakersfield wasn’t all terrible. She had cupcakes, traditional, and not so traditional. Cupcakes full of colors and flavor, that can satisfy nearly any sweet tooth, cupcakes that strongly resembled quiche, and even meatloaf shaped into a cupcake with mashed cauliflower icing. She had experienced the wonderful Southern California beaches, made a visit to worlds largest tree, and had a fun trip to Yosemite to bask in its natural beauty. Despite the hardships she faced, she always had support from those who love her, whether they were with her always, or on the other side of the phone. The wonderful queen always found something to comfort her, something to smile about. The Cupcake Queen is indeed a very amazing woman, beautiful, fun, and always in pursuit of happiness. What will she do next?

Driving down the 99 in central California, the Queen sleeping in just a shirt in the back seat is woken with such excitement. “Look the Cupcake Lady.” her chauffeur says calmly.
“What Cupcake Lady!!!” Her highness loudly asks, nearly yelling. Almost as woken scared from a nightmare. Somewhere between Turlock and Merced we found her. The pink truck, carrying such sweet cargo. The Cupcake Queen couldn’t help but order her driver to follow the ‘Lady.’ The tailing of the truck yielded wonderful cupcakes. Showing that it doesn’t matter where you are on the west coast, a good cupcake is always close. Her highness was sated with a Carmel cupcake and she even gave her sweet driver a snicker doodle cupcake. That Cupcake Queen has a knack for this.

As the cupcake Queen readies herself for another adventure to take her to new places and make new friends, she decides a hike and a cupcake are in order before her trip. She attempts a grand venture, hiking into the great northwest with a cupcake and a sunset. She just barely makes it to the top, winded and defeated by the trek, but not too tired to pose with cupcake in hand. The cupcake Queen has done it again.

Not back on home soil more than an hour, her royal sweetness was diving into yet another cupcake. Presented with a seasonal cake, of peaches and yum, she had been transported to her cupcake nirvana. She wasted no time in unwrapping her treat, the paper being a formality that merely tested her patience. Once her dessert was freed, she dispatched it with haste and yet still seemed to savor it. The Queen is home, her cupcake lust sated, and her subjects at ease. Long live cupcakes, and may the Queen be forever sweet.

The Queen of sweets is on familiar soil now. Before returning to her kingdom she stops in her native lands. Texas, known for heat, wide open spaces, and very proud people. While visiting her roots she partakes in the local cupcakes. Topped with textured frosting and lightly dusted with sprinkles. While this local iteration of her favorite dessert is fantastic, it isn’t exactly what she loves. She longs for her cupcake of vegan descent, or the very charming carmel cupcake, even though he can be salty. Nonetheless, her visit to her place of origin still yields delightful sweets, both in desserts and in the smiles of friends and family she has been away from.

The Cupcake Queen has traveled to a new land. Far beyond the sea, to a land full of Switzers known for there cheese and chocolates. And as she eats her non-cupcake dessert, she is happy.
